Recently, BTS’s J-Hope appeared on the YouTube show “Pinggyeyo”, where he opened up about the group’s most difficult period and shared hopeful insights into their highly anticipated reunion scheduled for 2026.

In particular, in the July 5th episode of the show, when J-Hope was asked to pinpoint the darkest moments in BTS’s career, the male idol did not hesitate to name 2018, a year of explosive global success for the group, yet shadowed by overwhelming emotional strain.

*We were exhausted, but we reminded ourselves of our core message, that is to love yourself,” he shared, adding, “That message wasn’t just for our fans. It was for us, too. Once we truly embraced it, we found inner strength.”

He further explained that the group’s creative process was not just for performance, but also a source of healing, stating, “Writing songs with positive messages became a form of therapy. It allowed us to grow emotionally while expressing ourselves honestly.”

The interview also touched on BTS’s future plans after all 7 members complete their mandatory military service. According to J-Hope, reuniting after such a long break is a complex task.

“It’s been three to four years since we stood together as a full group. We’re constantly thinking about how to reconnect and work smoothly again. It’s been too long and I want everything to feel harmonious”, he confessed.

Following the release of “Yet to Come” in 2022, BTS members entered military service one after another. J-Hope was the second member to complete his enlistment in October 2023, following Jin. Their last activity as a group dates back to 2022, making the upcoming spring 2026 comeback a historic return.

With fans worldwide eagerly awaiting their reunion, BTS’s return is expected to signal a new chapter in the group’s remarkable legacy, which was built on resilience, self-love, and unwavering unity.
